My name is Stefan Koomen. I’m the current Mayor of the City of Casey and Councillor for the Waratah Ward, which includes the suburbs of Doveton, Eumemmerring, Hallam and parts of Hampton Park.

I have lived in Doveton for many years, where my wife Cat and I raise our two young daughters. I have also worked locally for much of my professional career. I couldn't think of anywhere else I would rather live. I love this region, and I care deeply about the wellbeing and progress of Doveton, Eumemmerring, Hallam and Hampton Park.

I have always been an active community volunteer including the Chair of our local resident group, the Doveton Eumemmerring Township Association (DETA). As Treasurer of the Doveton Show Committee, I have helped run our show at Myuna Farm each year, including our biggest show ever in 2023.

You can find me every Saturday at the library volunteering as a Justice of the Peace, assisting fellow community members with important documentation and certification needs.

Our community is a great place to live, work, and raise a family, but, with the right attention from Council, I believe it can be even better. By backing in local community groups and through listening to locals, Council can put our interests first with vital improvements to local services.

I have some clear thoughts on the work that needs to be done, but I also want to hear from you to understand what your feelings are about our community and what you feel needs to improve.
